TERMS OF USE
Last updated: 01st September 2026
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the online courses and services (the "Service") provided by HANLON CREATIVE PRESS (trading as Hanlon Creative Press, "we", "us", "our"), company registration number 782165. By purchasing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
We provide educational resources and related digital content across a range of subjects and levels — including but not limited to Junior Cycle, Leaving Certificate, and adult learning. Content may include reading materials and graded stories, audio, songs, interactive activities, games, and progress tracking, delivered online via the Thinkific platform. New subjects, courses, and content types may be added over time and are covered by these Terms.
2. Licence types
Access is provided under one of the following licences. Except for the free content, all licences are for a defined period and are non-transferable.
- Free content / free chapter — provided at no cost for evaluation. We may modify or withdraw free content at any time.
- Individual (adult) licence — for a single adult learner (18+) for self-study, for one year. Not for classroom or multi-student use.
- Family / parent-guardian licence — purchased by an adult (18+) parent or guardian for a child in their care to use at home. The purchasing adult holds and is responsible for the account, and confirms they consent to their child's use of the Service. Intended for home/personal practice, not classroom or school use.
- Classroom licence — for one teacher and up to the stated number of students (e.g. 30) for 12 months from purchase.
- Department / Whole-school licence — for the stated number of student seats across the school for 12 months from purchase.
- Membership / subscription (where offered) — recurring access to a growing library of resources, billed per the plan selected, until cancelled.
- Free community (where offered) — access to a community space, subject to the community guidelines and to these Terms.
3. Licence period and renewal
All fixed-term licences (Individual, Family, Classroom, Department and Whole-school) run for 12 months from the date of purchase, after which access ends unless the licence is renewed. Memberships continue until cancelled in accordance with the plan. Seat limits stated for each licence must not be exceeded.
4. School and classroom licences — student data and consent
This section applies where a school or teacher enrols students.
- The School is the Data Controller for its students' personal data. The School confirms that it has a lawful basis and has obtained all necessary consents — including parental or guardian consent where required for students under 16 — for those students to use the Service.
- We act as a Data Processor, processing student data only to provide the Service and on the School's instructions, as set out in our Privacy Policy and any Data Processing Agreement between us.
- Students must be enrolled using minimal identifying information (for example, first name and initial, or a school-assigned ID or class code). The School is responsible for keeping any record that links an ID to a student's identity.
- The School is responsible for the conduct of its teachers and students in using the Service.
- A Data Processing Agreement is available on request and is recommended for all school licences.
5. Individual, family, and under-18 access
Accounts may only be created and held by adults aged 18 or over. A person under 18 may not purchase or hold an account directly.
- Adult self-study: an adult may buy an Individual licence for their own learning.
- Family / parent purchase: a parent or guardian (18+) may buy a Family licence for a child in their care to use at home. The parent/guardian holds the account, supervises the child's use, and consents to that use on the child's behalf.
- Through a school: a student may otherwise use the Service only where their school or teacher has enrolled them under a school licence with appropriate consent, as set out in Section 4.
We do not knowingly contract with, or collect personal data directly from, a person under 18 outside these routes.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: share login credentials outside your licence; copy, redistribute, resell, or publish our content; exceed your licensed seat limit; or use the Service unlawfully. Community spaces (where provided) must be used respectfully and in line with the community guidelines.
7. Intellectual property
All course content, text, audio, images, methods and branding — including The HANLON Exam Method™, The HCP Inquiry-Reading Method™, Bradán Feasa — Distinction Booster™, and the Seán Feasa materials — are the property of HANLON CREATIVE PRESS and are protected by copyright and trademark law. A licence grants access for use, not ownership, and does not permit redistribution.
8. Payment, cancellation and refunds
Payments are processed via Thinkific's payment providers. We do not store full card details.
Individual and Family licences (consumers)
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, even if you have accessed the content, by contacting us at [email protected]. This does not affect your statutory rights under EU/Irish consumer law. After 14 days, purchases are non-refundable. We encourage you to try the free content first.
School, Classroom and Department licences (organisations)
School and department licences are business-to-business purchases. As the free chapter allows schools to evaluate the Service before purchasing, paid licences are generally non-refundable once access has been granted. However, we will consider refund or cancellation requests on a case-by-case basis at our discretion — please contact us at [email protected].
Memberships and subscriptions
You may cancel a membership or subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future billing; your access continues until the end of the current billing period. Periods already billed are not refunded.
Monthly payment plans
Where a licence is paid in instalments, the agreed instalments remain payable for the licence term. Cancellation does not cancel instalments already due for the current licence period.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, add to, or improve content during a licence period (including seasonal additions) at no extra cost, and may make reasonable changes to these Terms, with notice for material changes.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount paid for the relevant licence. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction.
